Day #48: Roger

Here is a second version of Roger, with more sensical lines. This design calls attention to the quasi-palindromic nature (at least in the letter shapes) of the name.

In my comment below I cited Weingart as an influence, but I've second-guessed that.

Check these out.

I like this idea...pretty neat, but I'm not sure about the backdrop. What is the logic in the shape and proportion? Or the contact points? Perhaps this was intentional, but my eye wants more of the lines to connect (for example, the bottom right of the "e" and the "r"; also the top of the "e"). But maybe that makes it too clean for the irregularity of the letters. Regardless, it's a fun design. And if this is Hendo, even better.

Interesting...I guess there are elements about each now that I prefer. I like the more consistent lines of the new one, but prefer some of the filled in space of the original. Not that I'm expecting another revision, but it's interesting to see the differences. Thanks.
